All honey pots have a sticky ending.
The honeypot here was an online web forum which the FBI set up so that they "could locate cybercriminals, investigate and identify them and disrupt their activities."
The particular creatures drawn to this honeypot were "carders" (people who were involved in stealing personal identification information and other financial information like bank account and credit card information).
The carders were attracted to the promise of financial information posted on the forum. I am sure they must have read a lot of threads on that forum. One thing that the carders did not read was the terms and conditions that required users to agree upon registration that "their activities on the UC Site were subject to monitoring for any purpose".

I guess they should have read the terms and conditions. At least now they know better that glossing over terms (and crime, of course) doesn't pay.
